Teacher Appreciation Week is happening this week, and our incredible teachers deserve all the recognition! Devoted to nurturing the future and dedicated to their students and community, teachers should be acknowledged for their vital role.
This week, from May 6-10, we are showing teachers just how much they mean to us. If you have a teacher in your life that you would like to show appreciation to, here are just a few ways to show them just that.
Keep it Sentimental
Share with the teacher(s) in your life just how important they are to you. If there’s something that a teacher has done to help in your child’s growth and development, express that! If you’ve noticed examples of how they’ve shown love and care towards your child, send a note! Virtual notes can even be sent through websites such as kudoboard to your child's teacher.
Don’t shy away from involving your child in this activity as well! Encourage your child to draw a picture or contribute to the note, letter, message, etc. Words from the heart are a well of encouragement to teachers, and will surely show that special teacher in your life just how much they mean to you.
2. Keep it Sweet!
Who doesn’t love a sweet treat? Perhaps with the exception of some, but if you know that your child’s teacher appreciates sweets, send them some delicious baked goods attached with a sweet note! Even if you don’t have the time to bake something from scratch, there are tons of great treats just ready to be purchased. Try your local bakery to see if they have any customized treats for Teacher Appreciation Week, or head to your neighborhood grocery store and check out the bakery section. In a time crunch? Sites such as Fruit Bouquets and Edible Arrangements will deliver your sweets for you.
If your teacher doesn’t have a sweet tooth, you can still keep the gift sweet by sending them a bouquet of beautiful flowers attached with a note.
3. Keep it Practical
Some of the best gifts are the ones that we can use in our day to day! Think about what things that can be used more than once, or that won’t be sitting collecting dust somewhere.
Gift cards, notebooks, stationery, candles, self-care essentials, coffee sets are just a few of the practical gifts that you can give to your child’s teacher this year.
Teachers play an important role in the development and learning of our little ones, and deserve to be shown just how much they mean to us and our community. We encourage you to take the time this week to show your teachers a token of appreciation however you can.
Want to plan something nice for the teacher in your classroom or community? Feel free to reach your school’s administration office to coordinate. They would be more than happy to assist in making teachers feel all the love and appreciation!
